you are i am.

what better way to have catch up seshs if not with food, yes?

i had brunch twice at I Am Cafe over the month.

so whats the hype about this cafe?
well not much for me. for both occasions, i had the same problems at the cafe. is it just me? hahahh.
i wasn't expecting any royal treatment, but im pretty sure i was being polite.

pardon me if you're a regular at the cafe or have given excellent reviews on it.
a review is simply a good or not-so-good one. i guess, its different for everyone.

waiting time
the first time i was there, we were browsing their menu for about ten to fifteen mins before a waitress came to us asking, "are you queueing?". i really thought it was obvious that we were waiting for seats, because i'd have walked away if i didn't want to eat at your place. i didn't even know where the supposed queue was, because a few people were already gathering around us. we were made to wait for another fifteen mins for seats. it was full house on that saturday noon, so you peeps might wanna avoid that peak hour. initially i was alright with waiting but when it got tad too long with no one attending to us, i was contemplating to continue. i forgot when we exactly got our seats, because i felt that i was almost ready to go off.
we got our seats, made our order. and another half hour wait, or so. i believed it took a while because i specifically remembered how packed it was and i was glancing at my watch. come on, i was fungry hungry. when we were done, we had to wait some more for the bill. i knew i raised my hand countless of times, had all three waitresses attend to us before we got the bill in our hands. for real.

the second time i went in a group of four. waiting time for our seats was very quick this time, it wasnt packed. it started off good, so i was pleased. for a while. we had to wait for the someone to take our orders.  we ordered three drinks, a platter and a sausage jumbo. i had to ask the waitresses to check on our food, thrice! on the third time, the miss replied "urmm, im not really sure because the kitchen is small and we do have a lot of orders." hello, the matsaleh next to us came after and he got his food first. so now you tell me. a platter setup took us half an hour. followed by the add-ons. seriously.
luckily ive warned my girls about the waiting time.

customer service
i don't even know why we paid for the service charges.

here's what happened when i was ready to leave during the first time i was there:
we asked for bill - bill came - we paid and asked for our takeaway cake - she took the money - came back with the change but forgot the cake - i asked for the takeaway - she took the change to prepare the cake - we wait somemore - came back with the cake but not the change - went back to take the change.
SIGH.

for the second occasion, we had to wait for someone to attend to us when we wanted to add orders. we had to wait again for our bill. it seemed easier paying than getting the bill though. we had to wait again for our change.

it was alot of "i am... waitingggg."

food serving
the only good thing - taste, serving and presentation wise.

for both times, serving was plenty for one person, if you know how to choose your plate. i had sausage plate and burger plate respectively, and I Am Cafe never failed to deliver the good stuff. our food was warm, and the drinks were refreshing.
it took us a while to finish our servings.

on average, food, service and tax charges cost about 30.00S$ per pax. so you might wanna have spare cash if you go there.

ahhh yes, the famous rainbow crepes and rainbow cake.
definitely a must-try.

so why did i go twice given the not so nice customer service?
simply because my friends hadn't tried it and i don't mind going over, just for the food. and the cakes.
i should prolly just do takeaways next time.

will i recommend this place?
well, if you don't mind waiting.
or if you have a group to go with. the waiting time will be deceived when you guys are chatting and laughing together.

so, give it a try if you must are curious.
