dress up sunday.

once in a while when i do dress up, i meet truly awesome vendors who became more than just a supplier.

nothing short of warmth, patience, bubbliness, friendliness, accommodating and understanding coming from the vendors who are responsible for the look below.

outfit: #kurungsaree by @theshalshop | instagram | facebook |
shawl: #glitxcrepe by @bynurfudge | instagram  |
bridesmaids' makeup: #befaceready by @lipgl0ss | instagram | facebook  |

as per my ig post, i have only nice descriptions for all three suppliers.

my mates will know how much i resented wearing shawls since it was in trend. i was very particular and hesitant as i prefer square shawls. and then came @bynurfudge, recommended by my little brother. and the rest is history, as it's said. in fact, ive been dealing with @bynurfudge for a couple times more because her shawls' colors are just oh-so-pretty-i-wanna-buy-them-all! currently i have about five of her #satinxcrepe and #glitxcrepe shawls (within two weeks!), and i know i will be getting more colors.

if you're looking at makeup for your engagement ceremony or for your bridesmaids, or even just for your bridal, or better still, make-up classes, please browse @lipgl0ss' ig for details. ever ready to hear out what i want and not want for my face, telling me what she will and will not apply on my face, i think i have found the one MUA for my face!

@theshalshop is the Sg agent for @shawlpublika. and of course, we dont deny the gorrrrgeous #kurungsaree! add some twirls and you're good to model the #kurungsaree! need i say more?

in case you bridesmaids are worried about the damages, please fret not.

outfit: #kurungsaree - SGD 130.00
shawl: #glitxcrepe - SGD 18.00
bridesmaids' makeup: #befaceready - SGD 75.00

so there you go, a complete bridesmaid look, under SGD 225.00.

and oh, this isnt a paid advertisement.

its just credits should be given where it's due.

neko-nichiwaaa!

some colleagues and i took a short day off work to spend some hours with the kitties from Neko no Niwa, a cat cafe outlet just about 15mins away from our office.

Neko no Niwa
Location: No 54 Boat Quay S(049843)
Remarks: somewhere along the Boat Quay row of pubs and restaurants

we all know how lovable these creatures are.
so lets enjoy the uber cute cats images.

can you see? can you see?? its a heart shaped sleeping position! choooo chweeeeeet!

close to home, one familiar kitty just loves tagging along wherever we walked around the area, because it seems to know we have cat biscuits in the car for any stray cats.

so kepo and manja also this one.

me(w)ow!

have you ever had a catch up sesh with someone, and then couldn't find anything to do and just decided to do something?

that was exactly what happened to me and NF.
after a coffee dinner, we just didn't want to slack at the cafe but just wanted to do something or be somewhere else. being at Bugis+, the next best place to be at would be, the much talked about The Cat Cafe.

Address: No 241 Victoria Street Singapore 188030
Remarks: just above the Burger King

and thats what we just did.
promptly left the coffee cafe, went up to the cat cafe, paid the admission fees and waited for the kitties to wake up.

oh yes they were asleep when we got there, around 8ish pm.

why so cute even when sleeping!

after a while, some of them got up and were strutting around.
they didn't even care there were visitors!
cats.

these felines were either waiting for us to sayang sayang them,
or they'd just be walking around the cafe like its their grandfather's road.

whats even cuter is some of them have accessories on them!
like this cowboy cats.

this one attempt to slide through the doors. but failed miserably.
another one kept looking at the glass window, perhaps hoping to sneak out. but nah uhh.

one of the main rules are that we are not allowed to carry the animals, so we simply pat them and play with them.
sometimes i didn't see the cats walking around...

.... because its more rilekjack to sit on a sofa and stone.

girls' date.

one of the treasured moments is when you have good food and good friends to spend your time with.

here's a throwback post, this was some weekend back.

amazing girls, they are.
these are ladies who empowered other women instead of scorning their achievements, who are happy for one another's success and happiness, who motivates one another in keeping ourselves healthy and fit, who simply are one of the awesomes around.

saturday brunch was somewhere in Duxton, at Group Therapy Cafe.
indeed, it was therapy all right, with all the food, the laughter and the bitchin' and the knowledge shared.

after all that happy bellies, we decided for an impromptu girlfriends' photoshoot.
in the midst of finding the perfect background for photos, i managed to snap:

of course, sticking true to my ig where there hadn't been any clear pics of human faces, i posted this spiral stairs. no, it didn't come with a quote caption.

because "shaf never posts any humans on her ig."

what followed after that was this unintentional blurred image of the photoshoot below, because "shaf's ig will never have a clear face in it."

the nice part was, everyone was okay with this image! =D

the impromptu photoshoot went well, pictures turned out great (and crystal clear!) even though we didn't have a professional photographer and no heavy editing was involved.
everyone was easily pleased.

of course, the pretty images were safe for safekeeping.

more of such dates, we foresee.

to each (bridesmaid), a set.

as if its not enough that she had given us so much benefits of being her bridesmaids for that night itself.

upon her return from honeymoon, for being her A-Team on her wedding reception dinner, FaeO gave us her Thank You gift in this kind form:

"no lahhh, its not the expensive one lahhh." she said.
whuuuuut?!

God, please bless this girl.

and we can never be royals...

...but it was close enough.

end of May saw the end of singlehood for FaeO and her partner Id.
i was more than happy for her and her big day, which was planned and executed within six months, or less.

their solemnization ceremony was held on a Monday evening, at her parent's house. my bridesmaid duty started on that day; although i was just being around and not really doing much i think. i arrived tad early and we just chatted.

FaeO is one of the most relek brides i've seen; chilling in her bath robe and still texting couple hours before the ceremony.

her bridal room decor is by Anggun Bridal, who lent her their couple seat for the night as part of the dais.
the main dais in the living room was self-decored by FaeO's elder sister, Euni. i heard she stayed up to 3am the night before to finish the flower stands.

Anggun Bridal also made the bunga telur for the ceremony, with real brooches!
at the end of the solemnization, all the makciks were rushing for one bunga telur each, obviously for the brooches, not for the eggs. hahah.

FaeO chose Fatimah Mohsin The Wedding Gallery as her official MUA for both solemnization and dinner receptions. I say for her official MUA because she also engaged Anggun Bridal to be her mom's and sister's MUA for the reception. first time nohhh nampak FM close-up. hahahh.

abz met his friend during the ceremony, who was one of StudioDua's videographers for the solemnization night. this dude seems to have friends everywhereee we go, there's always someone whom he knows. femes sangat ke? ishhh.

i hadn't met the dudes from StudioDua everrr; that night felt like we've met a few times before. i guess in the photog+videog working line, you just have to be a little friendly to even people you meet for the first time.

that night, i was just delighted to see my closest bestest and humblest friend of... what, ten years? getting chained hitched to her love. for a moment there's nothing i want for her but truly happiness.

fast forward to the weekend, where the bridesmaids' duties really start.

FaeO booked a room in Marina Bay Sands for us bridesmaids and the AVIT guy who is none other than abz of course. hahahh. the stay was complete with valet parking and complimentary tix to Gardens By The Bay where the dinner reception was held.  due to a delay in getting the MBS room, the hotel management upgraded us to a club suite somewhere in Tower Two.

"for you guys to chill", said the bride.

chill lah sangat.
you can never go wrong at MBS with the amazing view from the 50th floor.
and a hugeee-ass room for all of us. the suite had a living area, the bedroom corner and a two-persons-can-fit bathtub. in fact i think more than two people can fit in that bathtub sia.

for simply being a bridesmaid, i feel pampered. hahahh.

the bridesmaids' duties started at about 5ish.
two bridesmaids (BMs) were already at the Flower Field Hall (FFH) overlooking the catering, abz and i rushed from MBS to GBTBFD to setup the AV stuffs and fine-tune the edges while the balance three BMs were to arrive later to setup the reception tables and usher the guests in.

abz and i were going around in slippers and berms from the hotel to the Dome and around the hall, as if its a walk in the neighborhood park. i can't be running around in the dress and heels! abz and i had wanted to go back to the hotel to change but it was definitely a different situation when we arrived at FFH. we had to ask the other BMs to bring our bags and attires for us to change in the Magnolia Room with the newlyweds.

there were definitely hiccups, which we all managed to solve by the time the newlyweds made their royal entrance. phewwww~!

how blown away was i when i entered the Flower Field Hall?
like this:

the lights, the color, the table settings. fairytale wedding was an understatement.
even i felt like a princess while brisking down the aisle. hahahah.

i didn't take plenty pictures because i was running around either looking for stuffs or people, getting people around, calling up people etc. so there were no proper unofficial pictures coverage done by me.

Euni texted me earlier that day asking if i were anywhere near a florist because she wanted to get bouquets for the BMs. i was still at home then, trying to iron my dress! i had to disappoint her in that bit.
but when she arrived at the venue, she had seven bouquets all ready for us!
such a lovely Maid Of Honour, she is.

being FaeO's bridesmaids are definitely different from any other bridesmaids that I've seen. we didn't even get to slack; some of us were ushering and others were coordinating the event. it was real work work. we didn't have time to spare to have photoshoots, whatsmore selfies etc. basically just no time to sibuk-menyebuk.

in fact, we were the last ones to take proper photos with the newly weds.
by the time we managed to have a proper picture with the newlyweds, two of the BMs had gone home due to family commitments.

nevertheless, we squeezed a full force shot, thanks to the Photo Booth set up by Hello Forever! very nice, very professional, very friendly people. Hello Forever prints free copies for each of us and gave one set to the couple. i don't remember how many shots we had; we just simply 1, 2 Pose! 1, 2 Pose!

her wedding favors were freshly bakes hazelnut cookies packed in customized labelled boxes. the cookies... damnnn delicious!

abz and i retreated first after the event, to rest and change since we were not staying for the night at MBS. by the time we got the room, we were deadbeat. our pizza from earlier was so tempting yet so distant to even eat.

even at the hotel, there were after-event hiccups. while abz and i were going around MBS, the balance BMs went around Flower Hall - all of us were looking for the missing pieces. hahah. thankfully it was settled shortly after.

the other BMs came after and we chatted for a bit before calling off the night morning. it was 3 in the morning the next day by the time we all returned to MBS.

the whole event was a learning journey.
thanks to FaeO, i made new friends, learnt more things about her and the people around, learnt how one person's wedding need not the same like another's, had to think quickly at certain hiccups etc.

it was no doubt memorable although tiring.

having married an Indian Muslim, FaeO have even flown to (and came back from) Mother India for the reception at the guy's side. say whereeee?

thankfully, "seksa aku dah habis".
hehehh.
