every once in two months, my ladies and i would fix a date to meet up over breakfast or brunch, preferably on a weekend. yes, we would wake up that early for our breakfast fix! despite our commitments, we usually were able to come up with a date.
so early May, we decided to have our birthday brunch date Butterscotch Cafe, located at Bukit Merah Central.
ButterScotch Cafe
No 164 Bukit Merah Central #01-3625 Singapore 150164
it was scorching hot upon arrival and there were no seats available for us, five adults and three kids. the waiter was nice enough to put us on the waiting list, but he didnt give any confirmation when we could get our seats. they have a sofa, thankfuly. so we waited outside. and waited, and waited some more.
until it got too sweaty and we decided to move to the coffeeshop next to it for a cold sip.
after about forty five mins
it was a very small cafe. very small. if i
we had Truffle Fries and Fried Portobello for starters. well, not really.
love the portobello shrooms! it was piping hot and crispy. its the only plate we finished.
not so for the fries - it was so-so. we didnt finished it, partly because it came late and we had started on our mains by then.
desserts saw the glutton in us. we attacked the churros, the parlova and souffle without a care how people looked at us.
churros - big, warm and sweeeet. must buy again. which i did.
parlova wasnt sweet as i thought it would be.
souffle, on the other hand, couldve potong my kaki. maybe thats the whole idea of the butterscotch souffle. but it was soooo sweet that i gave up after a couple of scoops. i love sweet food, but not to the extent when the taste got stuck in my throat. i must say the souffle was beeeauuuutiful.
total price paid - SGD 126.00 as a roundup. each person paid about SGD26.00 for all those on the table.
i like the friendliness and warm service of the staffs. they seem to have one stationed at the entrance, the cashier, the waiter, the barista. just raise your hand for an order and someone's bound to see you. lol. naise job there, ButterScotch :)
would i have the food there again? yeah sure.
eat in or take away? i'd do takeaway, unless there's seats avail for me and my company. heh.
lets see which cafe is next.
