because being nice dont kill.

and so Syawal 2015 is around the corner,

here comes all the Raya hashtags!

in fact i believe its started already even before Ramadhan, such as #Lebaran2015 #Eid2015 #Raya2015 #RayaWith(insert company name)2015 #SoAndSoBeraya2015 #MrAndMrsSoAndSoBeraya2015 #Raya2015OOTD..................... you get the drift.
no personal preferences; i just find these amusing. sometimes everyone tries so hard to lump everythinginsideonehashtaguntilitgetsannoyingtoevenread. ya'know?

APER SAJER PART ONE

but thats not just it.
Syawal is also about gatherings, and of course with gatherings comes all the questions that somehow this year, sparked quite a fair bit of attention in social media.

Dialogues To Avoid During Hari Raya:
When are you getting married?
When are you having a child?
Just one child? She/He wants a sibling lah.. (or) When are you having a second one?
Two daughters? Must try harder for a boy.
So many children! Don't you have family planning?

i've heard many netizens expressed their displeasure over these questions. some even linked religion in their annoyance.

hey hey. why so angsty.

when are you people ever gonna learn that these questions are common, they have been around since foreverrrr.
i was asked the 'getting married' question since i cant remember. now i know i'll be facing the 'getting a child' question for this coming Eid.
thing is, CHILL AH. pergi rumah orang nak marah-marah, aper kes? you know what questions you're gonna get right? then prepare your answers in advance. who do you think you are, for people to not ask you anything? why go visiting if every little question also cannot ask?

one listener commented along the line: "ask lah whether i have enough money or not, or i have enough rice to eat or not. better still, offer lah assistance instead of asking these questions."
hyakdush. im sorry, but whuuuttt? dont exagerrate please.

of course, i dont deny some questions can be over the line. some may add nasty/redundant/insensitive comments, and still expect some answers. but lets try to be the bigger person and offer a subtle comeback reply.

people just cant please you, can they?
people ask you questions, you not happy. people ignore you, you also not happy. then what do you want people to do?

APER SAJER PART TWO

shortly after this topic came up, my news feed was full of the image below:

"For those visiting, please wash your own plates (and cups). Dont listen to my mom who said "Oh just leave it", cos i'm the one who ends up washing the plates (and cups) later."

okay ni anak siapa start ni?

makbapak suruh basuh, basuh je lah. again, who are you who cannot be ordered around by your parents?
and seriously, your guests have to wash their own plates? i'd rather not visit your house. and if i reallllyyy have to visit your house, i'd bring my own bottle of drinks.

how about i turn the story around, now you go to people's houses and wash your own plates and cups. like it or not?
then dont do unto people.

whoever who have this attitude, please correct your attitude, as a host.
dont waste your raya by being rude.

be it asking questions or being asked, or receiving or being guests,
generally, BE NICE AND PRUDENT.
it doesnt kill.

on an ending note, happy Syawal 1436H! =)
peace out.
